Introduction
Public Works Department or better known as
JKR (Jabatan Kerja Raya) is one of the biggest government agencies in
the State. It is also one of the key government departments in the
State as it plays a crucial role in the infrastructure development of
the State.
|
JKR Sri Aman Division is one of the eleven
(11) Divisional Offices throughout the whole State. There are thirteen
(13) Sections and one District Office in the Department headed by a
Divisional Engineer (DE) and assisted by Assistant Divisional Engineer
(ADE) in charge of development and management respectively. The 13
Sections include Administration, Accounts, Store, Mechanical,
Electrical, Contract, Water Supply Maintenance, Water Supply
Development, Geotechnical & Structural Engineering, Building,
Building Maintenance, Architect, and Road while the District Office
comprise of JKR Lubok Antu.

Roles & Responsibilities
JKR Sri Aman is primarily responsible to inspect,
design, construct and maintain civil engineering works such as roads,
bridges, wharves and jetties, buildings and residential as well as ma
intenance of water supplies, electrical equipments such as main switch
boards, air-condition, lighting, ect and mechanical equipments such as
water pumps, vehicles, ect. Other functions of JKR Sri Aman are to
monitor control the output of store's stock/spare parts to serve the
needs of the Department as well as other Government Departments and
Agencies besides to provide technical advise to all Government
Department and Agencies that require JKR services.

Objectives

The objective of JKR Sri Aman is to
implement infrastructures development projects, civil engineering,
building and other civil works as well as maintenance works at minimal
cost in shortest period with highest productivity and usage load for
the needs and socioeconomic advancement of the division's growing
population in accordance and compliance with the aims and policies of
State Government of Sarawak.
