Introduction

Jabatan Kerja Raya Sarawak (JKR Sarawak) has set a vision to be the consultant of choice and a leading agency for infrastructure development in the state. Its vision is to provide the public with good infrastructure - to support Sarawak social-economic development needs by ensuring the best investment value, high standard of quality and safety and on time delivery of infrastructure development projects consistent with the government policies.

There are eleven (11) JKR Divisional organizations more commonly known as Divisional Offices in all the divisions throughout the state, which is involved directly in the implementation of projects within the respective divisions. JKR Bahagian Kuching is part of the department's organizational structure, which delivers in the divisional level.

Kuching Divisional Organization

The Divisional Engineer (DE) heads the Kuching Divisional Organization or better known as the Kuching Divisional Office. The main functions of the divisional office include the maintenance and development of roads, water supplies, buildings, wharves and river walls. All these activities have other supporting functions such as the administration, accounting, mechanical and electrical services, stores and quantity surveying.

The division also has two (2) district level organization in Bau and Lundu districts which are headed by a District Engineer and a Officer-In-Charge respectively. The district offices report directly to the DE and also carry out the same related functions as the Divisional Office.

The Divisional Office consists of fifteen (15) sections/units, including the districts of Bau and Lundu.
